Municipal Water Distribution Traceability

A water-distribution variant of a civic traceability platform, built for a different civic crisis: municipal water distribution. It tracks every tanker dispatch, every refill cycle, and every ward-level delivery from source to household, closing the visibility gaps that water mafias exploit and giving municipal bodies a real number on where every litre actually went.

Problem and Solution

The Problem

Municipal water distribution in Indian cities runs on a mix of pipelines and tanker fleets, and the tanker side is opaque. Tankers are billed for trips that never happened, refill cycles get inflated, and water meant for low-income wards gets diverted. Without GPS-verified trip data, municipal bodies can only suspect fraud, never prove it.

Our Solution

Every tanker is registered with its capacity. Every refill is logged at source. Every delivery is geo-confirmed at the destination ward. Discrepancies between dispatched volume, refill cycles, and delivered volume are flagged automatically. The result: municipal officials see exactly where water moves, and contractors gaming the system stop getting paid for fictional trips.
